Deizi is from Iraceminha – SC / Brazil. Deizi received her B.S. and master degree in Chemical Engineering, working on the extraction of anthocyanins for dyes. In 2019, she obtained her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul with the collaboration of the Universitè de Lille under supervision of Professor Nilson Marcilio, Liliana Féris and Andrei Khodakov. Her doctoral work involved the synthesis of zeolites with an alternative source of silicon, as well as preparation of metal catalysts for hydrogenation reactions. In Setember 2019, Deizi joined Prof. Andrei Khodakov group as a postdoc fellow where her current research work is focus on investigation of the mechanism, active sites and kinetics of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide catalytic hydrogenation to olefins using the state of the art operando and in-situ techniques, isotope labelling, transient and steady state kinetic experiments.
Sara Navarro Jaén
Sara Navarro Jaén obtained her BSc in Chemistry (2014) and MSc in Science and Technology of New Materials (2015) at the University of Seville (Spain). She completed her master’s thesis at the Institute of Materials Science of Seville under the guidance of Prof. José A. Odriozola, where she investigated the development of size-tailored Ruthenium nanoparticles for the CO and CO2 methanation reactions.
She obtained her PhD degree in the same group (2019). Her research was focused on the synthesis and characterization of phosphate-type supports for the design of water-gas shift catalysts, as well as the elucidation of the reaction mechanism through in situ and operando infrared spectroscopy. In 2017, she obtained Erasmus+ funding to do research at the Institute of Chemistry of Materials and Media of Poitiers (France), where she performed isotopic exchange experiments under the guidance of Dr. Nicolas Bion.
She is currently working as post-doctoral researcher at the Prof. Khodakov group, developing the design of bifunctional catalysts for the direct conversion of CO2 into dimethyl ether in the frame of the Interreg E2C project.
